캘러배서스 출신 목격자 레저 풀러는 총격 당시 상황에 대해 "I heard these pops, and I thought it was like a balloon or something... but then I heard like two more shots, and I was like, 'Oh, my God.' And then people started crowding behind me. And the two girls behind me pulled me down and used me for cover. I saw this girl, like, fall down, and I was like, 'Oh my God, someone just got shot.'"

레저 풀러는 이어 "What are you doing? Like, what are you doing with your life? You can't take two innocent people's lives like that. It's horrible,"라고 말했다.

목격자 샤이아 보버먼은 "I feel so grateful just thinking that it could have happened to any one of my friends and it didn’t. It just hurts so much knowing that I saw the girl that was in there too, before it all happened, and she was so sweet,"라고 ABC7 로스앤젤레스에 말했다.
