Lakers forward Ziaire Williams proposes at Bruno Mars concert

Los Angeles Lakers forward Ziaire Williams proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Paris Timan, during a Bruno Mars concert at SoFi Stadium, KTLA reported. Timan accepted the ring as the moment appeared on the stadium’s big screen.

The proposal tied a Southern California basketball figure to a major Los Angeles-area concert venue, with SoFi Stadium later sharing the moment on Instagram.

Williams, 25, got down on one knee as confetti fell during Mars’ concert, according to KTLA. The proposal took place while Mars’ wedding-themed song “Marry You” played.

SoFi Stadium’s official account shared a joint Instagram post with Williams and Timan after the proposal. “It really was a beautiful night 🥹💍,” SoFi Stadium’s official account said in the post.

KTLA reported that Williams is a Lancaster native who played high school basketball in Southern California alongside Bronny James and Zaire Wade. He later played college basketball at Stanford.

Williams was selected 10th overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2021 NBA Draft and was immediately traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, according to KTLA. He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2024 and signed with the Lakers in summer 2026.

Mars’ “Romantic Tour” was scheduled to continue at SoFi Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday before heading to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Oct. 10 and 11, KTLA reported.

The proposal added a personal moment to Williams’ first year with the Lakers.
