Hulu unveils trailer for Orange County Mormon wives series

Hulu has released a trailer for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, a new series featuring Jen Affleck and eight other cast members, according to ABC7 Los Angeles. The series premieres Nov. 12 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The series follows young mothers in Orange County as they navigate religious identity, relationships and differing beliefs. Its cast also has a family connection to the original The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives through McCall DaPron, the sister of original cast member Mayci Neeley.

ABC7 Los Angeles reported that the trailer introduces women with ties to the Mormon church and previews tensions involving moral differences, divorce, polygamy and secrets. Those themes are presented as part of the trailer's preview of the series.

Affleck, a MomTok member and cast member, said in the trailer that she decided to move to Orange County after Dancing with the Stars. She said she brought together two groups of women who had connections to the church.

Joining Affleck are Ashleigh Pease, Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, Bobbi Althoff, Jordan McClanahan, Madison Bontempo, McCall DaPron and Salomé Andrea. According to ABC7, DaPron is the sister of Mayci Neeley, an original star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

The new series will be available through Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. ABC7 disclosed in its report that The Walt Disney Company owns both Hulu and the ABC station.

The Nov. 12 premiere will introduce the Orange County group whose formation Affleck describes in the trailer.
