3.6 quake strikes near Stagecoach festival site in Riverside County

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck near the Stagecoach country music festival grounds in Riverside County Sunday morning, with no initial reports of damage or injuries, according to KTLA.

The tremor struck as Stagecoach, a major annual country music event in the Coachella Valley, was underway, drawing visitors from across Southern California — including many from Orange County — to Riverside County for the spring weekend.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the quake at 8:44 a.m. Sunday, placing its epicenter about 6.2 miles north-northeast of Cabazon at a depth of roughly 8.1 miles, according to KTLA.

No injuries or property damage were immediately reported in the area surrounding the festival grounds.
