National Geographic highlights Laguna Beach in 2027 travel picks

California’s Pacific Coast Highway has made National Geographic’s list of 25 recommended destinations for 2027, with Laguna Beach and its centennial singled out, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.

The selection puts Laguna Beach’s anniversary before an international travel audience. ABC7’s report does not provide estimates of how the recognition might affect local tourism.

National Geographic draws on travel specialists and editors around the world to assemble its annual recommendations, ABC7 reported. The 2027 picks feature outdoor activities, cultural attractions, museum upgrades and anniversary celebrations.

Elsewhere in the U.S., the list includes Baltimore, the Southern Ozarks, Madison and Puerto Rico. Baltimore’s featured attractions include the upgraded National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation, along with the USS Constellation and the National Aquarium.

The Southern Ozarks selection covers parts of Missouri and Arkansas. It highlights the expanded Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, according to ABC7.

Madison’s appeal centers on lakefront activities, food and cultural experiences. Puerto Rico is featured for its mix of cultural traditions.

Beyond the U.S., Grenada’s Spicemas carnival marks its 150th anniversary in August 2027. Normandy plans more than 1,000 events for its Millennium 2027 celebrations, while Luxor, Egypt, is highlighted for the total solar eclipse on Aug. 2, 2027.

ABC7 disclosed that the Walt Disney Company is the parent company of both National Geographic and the ABC station.
