NewJeans breaks 6-month social media silence with Hyein birthday post

K-pop group NewJeans posted birthday photos of member Hyein on Monday, breaking more than six months of social media silence, the Korea Times reported.

The post arrives nine days after members Hyein, Haerin and Hanni were sighted together in Copenhagen, Denmark on April 12, intensifying comeback speculation for a group that spent months embroiled in a legal dispute with agency ADOR.

NewJeans' official channel uploaded several photos of Hyein — showing the member with longer, straighter hair — alongside the caption "HAPPY HYEIN DAY," according to the Korea Times. It was the group's first post since October 2025, when NewJeans marked its fan community's third anniversary.

The three-member sighting in Copenhagen was reported by Xportsnews. Hyein, Haerin and Hanni were photographed together on April 12, and the images circulated widely online, prompting speculation that the group may be rehearsing or otherwise preparing for a return.

The extended silence followed a period of legal conflict between NewJeans members and ADOR. Haerin and Hyein rejoined the agency in November 2024, and Hanni returned in December 2024, the Korea Times reported. Member Danielle's contract with ADOR was terminated, and discussions over Minji's return are ongoing.

Neither NewJeans nor ADOR has made an official announcement regarding a comeback.

The full lineup for any potential comeback remains unclear, with Danielle's contract terminated and Minji's return still undecided.
