Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to appear on South Korea's You Quiz on the Block

Jensen Huang, founder and chief executive of Nvidia, will appear on tvN's popular variety program "You Quiz on the Block," the network announced Tuesday, making the AI industry's most prominent figure the latest global luminary to join a show that has redefined South Korea's talk-show landscape.

The booking reflects "You Quiz on the Block's" remarkable evolution from a street-interview format into a studio program capable of landing global business leaders and Hollywood stars — a transformation accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Korea Times.

"You Quiz on the Block," hosted by veteran entertainer Yoo Jae-suk, first aired in August 2018. The show drew its early format from a street-interview segment Yoo had developed on "Infinite Challenge," stopping ordinary people at random to chat, the Korea Times reported. When the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, producers moved the show indoors — a shift that ultimately expanded the caliber of guests producers could pursue.

The studio transition opened the door to a new tier of international bookings. Bill Gates' appearance on the program is widely credited as the turning point that elevated its global profile, according to the Korea Times. With Huang's booking confirmed, he would join a guest list that has included actors Scarlett Johansson, Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.

For Huang, the booking is unusual. Despite leading Nvidia — the chipmaker at the center of the generative AI era — he has rarely sat for entertainment talk shows, making his "You Quiz" slot notable beyond the program's already-impressive guest record.

Huang arrived in Korea on Friday, the Korea Times reported. During a two-day visit last October, he attracted considerable attention after meeting Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Euisun at a casual fried chicken gathering.

Huang's "You Quiz on the Block" appearance continues the show's trajectory from a sidewalk interview program into a venue that regularly draws world figures spanning entertainment, technology and global business.
