David Ono marks 30 years at ABC7 Eyewitness News

David Ono marked 30 years at ABC7 Eyewitness News after joining the Los Angeles station in 1996, ABC7 Los Angeles reported.

The milestone highlights a career in which ABC7 said Ono reported stories from Southern California and some of the most remote places on earth.

ABC7 Los Angeles reported that colleagues and friends sent messages honoring David Ono’s 30 years at ABC7 Eyewitness News.

Ono said the milestone did not feel distant. "I feel like today could be my second day at work. It's gone so fast and the energy is still there, and I still love what I do," Ono, an ABC7 journalist, said.

Marc Brown, an ABC7 journalist, said Ono joined Eyewitness News in 1996 and praised his work over the decades. "There's a saying that journalism is the first draft of history. And ever since you joined Eyewitness News back in 1996, you've been here bearing witness to that first draft of history... and the slew of awards you've won along the way are a testament to how well you do it. I'm proud to work with you. Here's to 30 more years of excellence, great stories and witnessing history." Brown said.

ABC7 Los Angeles reported that actresses Ming-Na Wen and Rosalind Chao also sent messages to mark Ono’s anniversary.

The station described the anniversary as a major milestone after three decades of Ono appearing for the city and viewers.

ABC7 said Ono has spent three decades telling stories for viewers in Southern California and beyond.
