OC Animal Care promotes cat adoptions as weather cools

OC Animal Care in Tustin is promoting cat and dog adoptions in September while offering vaccine clinics for Orange County pet owners, according to Voice of OC.

The effort gives Orange County residents a local option to adopt pets and access vaccines as the county animal shelter continues highlighting animals ready for homes.

Voice of OC reported that OC Animal Care featured six animals available for adoption: cats Wynonna, Wendy, Kenny and Cedar, and dogs Summer and Sonny.

The shelter is reducing adoption fees for the featured cats to $50 on Fridays, according to Voice of OC. During September, adoption fees are waived for dogs weighing 25 pounds and up, including Summer and Sonny.

Summer weighs 60.5 pounds, and Sonny weighs 44 pounds, Voice of OC reported. The article said the promotions are part of the shelter’s continuing effort to place animals in homes.

OC Animal Care also scheduled “Sittin’ With Kittens” for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its main Tustin location, according to Voice of OC.

A pet vaccine clinic in partnership with Vet Care Clinic is set for Sunday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Voice of OC also reported that a free vaccine clinic is scheduled for Sept. 26, with the first 100 rabies vaccines free while supplies last.

OC Animal Care is open daily for adoption visits from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Voice of OC.
